haulage

Just before I went to my sister's grad the other week, I nipped into Leeds for a spot of shopping and here's what I came home with!

A nice free sample of some Lancome products, also got a moisturiser but seem to have lost it. Annoying!
obvs haven't been using for long but I already love the Genifique and am sorely tempter to buy some but at over £70 a pop I'll have to mull that over.

Stocked up on my fave natural collection loose powder in a warm translucent for summer.
Finally got myself some of the collection 2000 concealer everyone goes on about, defs a fan already.
And I've been wanting eye bright for a while, and Im so glad I bought it, it's brilliant and makes you look so bright and awake!

Plainn v-neck from H&M (also got the jumper from my last post which I haven't taken off since)

New Blusher from Nars

I think paying £20.50 is defs worth it, it's a brilliant product and it's actually £3 cheaper than Benefit blushers, what a rip off!

Here's a little before and after using my new makeup, just wearing standard studio fix by mac, stila and benefit eyeshadows, and a Maybelline one by one mascara

Using the concealer, blush, eye bright and natural collection powder, gives a much warmer, summery feel to my slap.

P.S. also got myself a Canon 550D which i've been saving for all summer, and love it!

The Graduate

It's obviously that time of year when people's graduation photo's keep cropping up and alcohol consumption levels are up due to copious celebrations of hard work, or sorrow drowning at least. I've read so many posts about people trying to figure out what to wear so I thought I'd show what I wore as a guest at my sister's graduation, she is now officially a Post Graduate with a certificate of Education (base a teacher)

Jumper - H&M
Dress- Topshop
Shoes - Topshop

I love this jumper, I've been craving knitwear since everyone started releasing their a/w 11/12 stuff. I always feel as though my winter wardrobe is rather lack lustre and in cohesive and plan on buying a few pairs of trousers, lots of jumpers and some long sleeved shirts to live in this winter.

The Hogwarts not-so-express

Ooh wow, going on Blogger and pressing New post was a little bizarre then! To be honest mainly I've just been a bit ceebs with blogging. I've been working a lot and knackered the rest of the time and haven't had much to write about.

Anyway! I'd love to be able to tell you this is what I wore on Thursday night/Friday morning to go see one of the first public screenings of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2. However, that would be lying. It's Monday, and i still haven't been to see it, which is highly disappointing seeing as I'm such an HP fangirl loser.

Also was overcome with jealousy (I know mother, how vulgar!) when we had some family friends over for sunday lunch last week and 1 of their son's was actually accompanying Matthew Lewis, who plays Neville Longbottom in the films, to New York for the premiere there. Matt went to our school and was in the same year as this family friend and they're bessie mates. I think he's also in Sydney now as well, jammy git!

To try and console myself I've been wearing my old Harry Potter dressing gown and reading The Deathly Hallows just to try and cement it in my mind before seeing David Yates' version. I feel I'm fighting a loosing battle as even reading the chapters covered in part 1 I'm seeing the film's version of events. But really enjoying it all the same, I think it's probably my favourite of the series.

Here are some Harry Potter related posts I've been loving reading:
Stacy of Devorelebeaumonstre's Homage to Harry Potter
Michelle of Daisy butter's Part deux
Michelle of The Feather Den doing Harry Potter Geek Chic
And Kavita from I Heart Vintage x's Thrifted Harry Potter's Glasses

I hope I get to see it to soon!! And hope you all really enjoy it too!

Style File: Emma Watson

I've come over all Potter! I got really excited earlier for J.K. Rowling's announcement about Pottermore and even started welling up when she spoke about her "readership" absolute saddo, I know. But anyway here's another Style File featuring, obviously, Emma Watson, if you've been reading my blog I think I've mentioned her a few times. When the films first came out, and even as recently as 2009 I didn't really like Emma, her ridiculous accent irritated me and I just didn't really love her. Anyway, all that has changed and I've seen the light, she's an absolute ledge and a snappy dresser!

Beware, a very photo heavy post, I just couldn't help myself!!

These are all casual snaps when she's been snapped, unlike most young starlets there aren't that many of these kinds of photos. I like that, that she keeps herself to herself, she seems a really stable young woman with a good sense of self, and judging by these outfits doesn't feel the need to dress up at every occasion.  I like all these outfits, simple, uncomplicated and classic

These photo's are from fashion events, from fashion week, after parties and shows etc. I can't even say how much I love THAT Burberry dress (the gold one obvs!) she looks really good in it!

I think the black and gold dress is one that really made me take notice of her style credentials, not many people would dare wear it and she pulls it off incredibly well. The Ossie Clark dress has to be one of her most photographed. I think this is another one where she shows the fashion pack that she knows more then just the obvious designers, and looked amazing in it, even if she did flash her knickers!

I think these are both Chanel dresses, they're both great examples of how she dresses with an age appropriateness (if that's a word) They're not too old and aren't too slutty, I love the cape on the first one, ideal for a Harry Potter premiere!

She clearly has a soft spot for LBD's that Little Blue Dress in this case. Again utterly flawless outfits, she hasn't over accessorised them and they're not boring. The shoes in the first one give a little edge to the cute dress whereas with the last 3 they're kept simple so as not to complicate it.

These 5 outfits were all worn to talk shows, the wider audience isn't alienated by major fashion brands, but Emma doesn't compromise her personal style for this. I have totally fallen in love with the Burberry Prorsum Nella Knight bag, amazeballs!

This year has been a particularly good year for Emma's style parade. The new hair do is something I really love, I'm glad that she mixes it up and doesn't style it the same way even though it's short and there's less to do with it. I think she looked bloody brilliant at the MTV movie awards. I wish I had just 5 things from her wardrobe!!!
